WE, THE PEOPLE of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessing of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America

The preamble to the United States Constitution.  We think it is a good idea for all Americans to occasionally read this document and to hold our elected officials responsible to it.  Not such a hard concept.  Our framers were pretty wise men.  They gave us the means, through amendments, to change to fit the future and other times.  They even admitted, almost immediately, that they had erred and left some things out, so they demonstrated the amendment procedure by adding the Bill of Rights.  Amendments one through ten.

No need to replicate the document itself in this space.  It is readily available in any library and in many places online.  Look at it once in a while.  Wiser people put it together than are usually charged with holding to its principles.  WE, THE PEOPLE is the most important phrase in this document.

That includes you.
